Taweez for Anxiety, Peace of Mind & Mental Healing — Quranic Tranquility Code

By Sheikh Sayed Shah Qadri, Qadiri–Chishti spiritual counselor since 2012 · Last updated: 24 October 2026

Which surah removes anxiety? No single surah is promised to remove anxiety, but Muslims commonly turn to Surah Ad-Duha, Surah Al-Inshirah, Surah Ar-Rahman, Surah Yaseen and verse 13:28 (“hearts find rest in the remembrance of Allah”), alongside dua, salah and professional care when needed. The Complete Quran Coded Taweez is offered as a spiritual companion to these practices.

Please note: This page offers spiritual support. It is not a medical diagnosis or treatment, and it does not replace care from a doctor or mental health professional. See When to Seek Professional Help below.

Why the Complete Quran Coded Taweez for Anxiety?

Worry, low mood, and stress are common human experiences, and the Quran speaks to them with compassion. It describes itself as “healing and mercy for the believers” (17:82). The Complete Quran Coded Taweez encodes all 114 Surahs, including the verses most often turned to in times of distress, prepared by Sufi scholars through the classical tradition of ilm al-huruf (the science of letters).

A single Surah or Divine Name recited with presence is a beautiful practice, and the taweez is meant to complement it, not replace it. Distress touches the heart, mind, body, and spirit, and the Islamic response is whole-person: worship, dhikr, dua, good company, healthy routines, and, where needed, professional treatment.

Authentic Duas for Anxiety, Distress & Sleep

1. For anxiety and grief

Allahumma inni a’udhu bika minal-hammi wal-hazan, wal-‘ajzi wal-kasal, wal-bukhli wal-jubn, wa dala’id-dayni wa ghalabatir-rijal
“O Allah, I seek refuge in You from anxiety and grief, from helplessness and laziness, from miserliness and cowardice, and from being overwhelmed by debt and overpowered by men.” (Bukhari)

2. The dua of distress

“There is no god but Allah, the Mighty, the Forbearing. There is no god but Allah, Lord of the Mighty Throne. There is no god but Allah, Lord of the heavens, Lord of the earth, and Lord of the Noble Throne.” (Bukhari and Muslim)

3. For relying on Allah

حَسْبُنَا اللَّهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ
Hasbunallahu wa ni’mal-wakeel
“Allah is sufficient for us, and He is the best disposer of affairs.” (3:173)

4. Before sleep

Bismika Rabbi wada’tu janbi wa bika arfa’uh, fa in amsakta nafsi farhamha, wa in arsaltaha fahfazha bima tahfazu bihi ‘ibadakas-salihin
“In Your name, my Lord, I lay down my side and by You I raise it. If You take my soul, have mercy on it, and if You release it, protect it as You protect Your righteous servants.” (Bukhari and Muslim)

The Sunnah before sleep also includes Ayatul Kursi (2:255), reported to give protection through the night (Bukhari), and reciting Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq and An-Nas (Bukhari).

The Divine Names for Peace of Mind

Divine Name Arabic Meaning Reflection
Al-Latif اللَّطِيفُ The Subtle, the Gentle Allah’s gentle care reaching you in ways you do not see
As-Salam السَّلَامُ The Source of Peace Turning to the Source of peace and safety
Al-Mujib الْمُجِيبُ The Responder Calling on the One who responds to His servants
Al-Wadud الْوَدُودُ The Most Loving A reminder of Allah’s love for His servants
Al-Hafiz الْحَفِيظُ The Protector Placing your worries in the hands of the Protector

Recitation counts such as 100, 313 and 1000 are traditional practices passed down by Sufi teachers. They are not prescribed by the Sunnah. Start with a number you can keep calmly, such as 33 or 100, and increase only if it brings you ease. If counting or repeating ever adds to your worry, stop counting and simply remember Allah.

A Gentle Daily Routine

Time Practice Approx. time
After Fajr Surah Ar-Rahman (55), then Ya Latif (start with 100 or 313) 15 min
Mid-morning or Dhuhr Surah Ad-Duha (93), then Ya Mujib (100) 10 min
After Asr Surah Al-Inshirah (94), then Ya Latif (100) 5 min
After Maghrib Surah Yaseen (36), then Ya Salam (100 to 1000) 15 min
Before sleep Ayatul Kursi, the three Quls, the sleep dua, Ya Salam (100) 10 min

You do not need to do everything. A smaller routine you can keep is better than a large one you cannot. Keep your obligatory prayers first.

In a Moment of Panic or Overwhelm

  1. Slow your breathing. Breathe in gently and make the exhale longer than the inhale.
  2. Recite the dua of distress (above), slowly.
  3. Say Hasbunallahu wa ni’mal-wakeel, and repeat it until you feel steadier.
  4. Repeat Ya Latif or Ya Salam quietly, without counting.
  5. Reach out to someone you trust if you can.

Emergency Card: Keep these steps on a small card with your taweez for easy access.

If you have chest pain, trouble breathing, or any thoughts of harming yourself, contact your local emergency services or a crisis line right away. Do not wait.

Sadness, Hopelessness & Grief

Experience Quranic reflection Practice
Deep sadness Surah Ad-Duha (93) Morning recitation; dua; time with loved ones
Hopelessness Surah Az-Zumar (39:53) Evening reflection and dua
Grief Surah Al-Baqarah (2:155-157), which describes the patient who say “Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we return” Recite the dua of grief; lean on family and community

These practices can support your heart. If sadness or hopelessness lasts for weeks or affects your daily life, please speak to a doctor or counselor as well.

When to Seek Professional Help

Seeking treatment is part of the Islamic tradition. The Prophet ﷺ taught that Allah has not created a disease except that He has created its treatment (Bukhari). Please speak with a doctor or qualified mental health professional if:

  • Anxiety, panic, or low mood lasts for weeks or interferes with work, family, or sleep
  • You experience panic attacks, intrusive or repetitive thoughts, or trauma symptoms
  • You have thoughts of harming yourself or ending your life, in which case please contact emergency services or a crisis line immediately

Dua, dhikr, and a taweez can walk beside professional care. They do not need to be chosen instead of it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which surah removes anxiety?

No single surah is promised to remove anxiety, but Muslims commonly turn to Surah Ad-Duha (93), Surah Al-Inshirah (94), Surah Ar-Rahman (55), Surah Yaseen (36) and verse 13:28, alongside dua, salah, and professional care when needed.

What is Allah’s name to reduce anxiety?

Many people reflect on Al-Latif (The Subtle, the Gentle), As-Salam (The Source of Peace) and Al-Mujib (The Responder). Counts such as 100, 313 and 1000 are traditional Sufi practices rather than Sunnah, so begin with a number you can keep comfortably.

Which dua is best for anxiety?

The Prophet’s dua Allahumma inni a’udhu bika minal-hammi wal-hazan (Bukhari) is the best-known dua for anxiety and grief. The dua of distress (La ilaha illallahul-‘Azimul-Halim…, Bukhari and Muslim) is also widely recited.

What is the cure for anxiety in Islam?

Islam encourages a whole-person approach: (1) remembrance of Allah and Quranic recitation, (2) salah with presence, (3) sincere dua, (4) healthy routines, rest, and good company, and (5) professional medical or psychological care when needed. A taweez can serve as a spiritual companion to these, not a replacement.

Can a taweez replace therapy or medication?

No. A taweez is a spiritual practice and does not diagnose or treat any medical or psychological condition. If you are struggling, please see a doctor or mental health professional, and continue any prescribed treatment unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Important Note

Taweez, dua, and dhikr are spiritual practices. They are not a substitute for medical, psychological, or professional care, and no outcome is guaranteed. Outcomes are in Allah’s hands alone. If you are in crisis or in danger, contact your local emergency services or a crisis line immediately.
